November is a month to give thanks for many things, including the wild things and wild places that make Texas so special. At Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation, we’re thankful for our members and partners who help us support important conservation projects like restoring pronghorn to West Texas landscapes. Thanks to TPWD and our friends at the Borderlands Research Institute, scientists are finding out why this iconic species is in decline, and they’re actively taking steps to return this beautiful creature to the Trans-Pecos. Watch the video and learn more about this fascinating project. You can help by making a donation now.

Lots of folks think about turkeys this time of year….but Texas Parks and Wildlife biologists studying the bird think about them all year long. TPWD upland game bird specialists will be stocking about 280 wild turkeys this winter in East Texas. It’s part of a new effort to stock Eastern wild turkey into their historic range. Recent research has helped scientists fine-tune their techniques in moving the birds into high quality habitat. Past stocking efforts have resulted in an Eastern wild turkey hunting season in 15 counties and it is hoped this latest effort will result in additional hunting opportunities. This is just one of the many projects that support from our members helps make possible. Join them by becoming a TPWF member today.
