Happy New Year!
We hope your 2016 is off to a good start - ours certainly is. Why? This year marks the 25th anniversary of Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation (TPWF) and we’ll be marking this milestone in many different ways. You might notice our newsletter has a new look for the new year. Over the next twelve months we plan on sharing stories with you about the projects you’ve supported over the years that have helped conserve the wild things and wild places of Texas. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating all year long!

As part of our 25th anniversary celebration, we’re launching a year-long photo contest! Winning photos will be featured each month on TPWF’s website and social media channels as well as the website of Texas Parks and Wildlife Magazine, will have a chance at being published in the pages of the magazine next January, and will receive photo tips from TPW Magazine chief photographer (and contest judge) Earl Nottingham.

Each month will also feature different prizes, starting this month with a YETI Hopper 30 cooler. To have a chance at winning, be sure your photo fits the monthly theme and our photo contest rules.

Good luck – we’re looking forward to seeing and sharing our state’s beautiful West Texas wildlife and landscapes!

What could be better than a holiday gift that provides unlimited access to Texas State Parks? How about raising more than $73,000 dollars for our parks? That’s the result of this year’s Unwrap the Wild promotion. Each year for the holidays, Unwrap the Wild offers a discount on an annual state park pass that provides free entry to more than 90 state parks across the state. Funds raised will be used to provide grants to parks for projects that will improve habitat conservation or enhance the visitor experience. Missed the chance to buy a discounted pass this year? You can still buy a parks pass all year-round by visiting a state park (or calling TPWD at 512-389-8900), or you can donate to your state parks by following the link below.

Thank you to everyone who purchased the gift that keeps on giving!
