Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation is raising awareness and encouraging all Texans to get involved in conserving the wild things and wild places of our state.

"We Will Not Be Tamed” calls you to appreciate the wildness of Texas, the vastness of our Texas spirit and why we should be inspired to conserve it.

We’ve partnered with Texas Monthly, Toyota and other Trailblazing Texas partners to help us spread the word. Notable Texan outdoorsmen and women are joining forces as The Untamed, including JT Van Zandt, featured in this month’s issue of Texas Monthly.

We are as rugged as the canyons in West Texas. As vibrant as the Hill Country. As grand as the East Texas pines. As diverse as the landscapes of South Texas. And as independent and hard-working as the plains of the Panhandle.

People are what makes Texas great. But this state, and this land, are what make the people who live here Texans.

TPWF is thrilled that a group of incredible Texan outdoorsmen and women are standing with us to tell their stories. Over the next few months, you’ll be hearing more about them through podcasts, videos, billboards and more. Next month in this newsletter, El Paso’s Matt Morris will share the inspiration of the Chihuahuan Desert.

TPWF will kick off We Will Not Be Tamed in Fort Worth on March 1. Texas Monthly Editor in Chief Tim Taliaferro will be there, as will JT Van Zandt and others who are joining forces as The Untamed. The event will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Whiskey Ranch at Firestone & Robertson Distilling Co. in Fort Worth. All TPWF members will be invited. TPWF has partnered with Trailblazing Texas companies that share our passion for the outdoors to bring you a one-of-a-kind sweepstakes.
